Monthly Updates
A monthly note on my projects, lessons from trying things, and the books and tools I'm putting to use.
What I'm building
A monthly email about work in progress, a lesson worth sharing, and something useful to take away.
Why it exists
Some useful things are too small for essays but too valuable to disappear into private notes.
The question I'm working through
Which projects and ideas are most useful for readers to follow?
What I've learned
A newsletter needs a clear promise before it needs volume.
Where it stands
- Promise
- One useful idea, object, book, question, or experiment from the archive.
- Constraint
- It has to be short enough to send and useful enough to keep.
What's next
Send the first monthly update and learn what readers want to follow.
Build notes
A clear monthly format and a sample
Added a sample update and a consistent monthly promise, with invitations at the end of stories and project pages.
Kept the scope small
The next version needs a sample issue before it needs a cadence.
