Cool Shit
A curated collection of things that make me go "holy shit, that's awesome." Tech, design, ideas, and random discoveries that caught my attention.
Current Obsessions
AI Agents That Actually Work
We've crossed the threshold from "neat demo" to "genuinely useful." Claude, GPT-4, and the ecosystem of tools being built on top are changing how I work every single day.
My AI Setup →"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."
This proverb lives rent-free in my head whenever I think about starting something new.
Mechanical Keyboards
Yes, I'm one of those people now. The tactile feedback, the sound, the customization. It's a rabbit hole and I'm deep in it.
Tools I Can't Live Without
Raycast
Spotlight replacement on steroids. Snippets, window management, emoji picker, calculator, and endless extensions. Mac only, but worth buying a Mac for.
Obsidian
Where my second brain lives. Markdown files, local storage, insane plugin ecosystem. The graph view is beautiful but honestly I never use it.
Figma
Still the gold standard for design. The dev mode update made the handoff process so much smoother. Plus it runs in a browser which is wild.
Claude Code
The AI coding assistant that actually understands context. Built this website with it. Yes, we're in a bit of a recursive situation here.
Ideas That Broke My Brain
The Observable Universe
There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on Earth. And that's just the part we can see. What the actual fuck.
Compound Interest in Skills
Getting 1% better every day means you're 37x better after a year. The math checks out and it completely reframed how I think about learning.
Inversion
Instead of asking "how do I succeed?" ask "how do I fail?" Then avoid those things. Stupid simple but incredibly powerful.
You Are The Average
You become the average of the 5 people you spend most time with. Choose wisely. This made me audit my relationships ruthlessly.
Content That Slaps
Lex Fridman Podcast
3-hour conversations with the most interesting people on the planet. Put it on 1.5x and go for a long walk.
Veritasium
Derek makes science videos that make you feel smarter. The production quality is insane and he's not afraid to go deep on complex topics.
Not Boring by Packy McCormick
The best business/tech newsletter out there. Deep dives into companies and trends that actually make you smarter about the world.
Random Cool Finds
Framework Laptop
A laptop you can actually repair and upgrade yourself. Modular ports, replaceable everything. This is how all tech should be made.
Check it out →Third Wave Coffee
Once you go specialty, you can't go back to Starbucks. Learning about origins, processing methods, and roast profiles is its own rabbit hole.
Standing Desk Setup
Took me 3 iterations to get it right. Standing mat, monitor arms, cable management. Your back will thank you.
