Why I Watch
Movies are the fastest way to live a life that is not mine. The best ones expand my sense of what is possible, sharpen my taste, and leave me with images and questions I cannot shake.
How I Choose What to Watch
I lean on directors I trust, friends with sharp taste, and a small set of critics who write honestly. If a film keeps surfacing in conversations with people I respect, it moves up the queue.
What I Look For
Specificity over spectacle. A clear point of view. Craft in writing, framing, sound, and editing. I would rather watch a small film made with conviction than a big one made by committee.
How I Watch
One film at a time, phone away, lights down. I log every watch on Letterboxd and write a short review when something is worth coming back to. The note matters more than the rating.
Where to Go Next
Browse my recent watches and reviews, then follow the threads into the directors and writers behind the films that stuck.
